Mike McCune - Testimony

Shasta Bible College prepared me for The Master's Seminary (TMS) in three primary ways: First, I got acquainted with theological texts. I love to read theology books and that passion started at SBC. Secondly, studying Biblical Greek at SBC helped both in studying the New Testament on my own as well as readying me for the rigors of seminary Greek. Even today at the church at which I am an associate pastor, I have three faithful students to whom I am able to teach Biblical Greek. As I go further in seminary to get a Master's of Theology at TMS, my emphasis will be in New Testament. I feel that my knowledge of Greek has influenced that decision. It is a great privilege to know the original languages of the Bible. Thirdly, I was made aware of the need for pastoral ministry in Northern California. There are so many small communities around Redding that need solid Bible teaching. While in college I had opportunities to preach every weekend at churches that did not have a pastor. I have been praying since I left Redding four years ago that I would be able to return to the Northern California area to pastor a church.
