Message from the President
Equipping committed, qualified Christian leaders for the new millennium is what Shasta Bible College is all about. It is imperative that today’s students not only know and internalize the precepts of God's Word, they must also understand how to interpret Scripture and apply it to life and ministry. That's why SBC continues to maintain its strong emphasis on inductive Bible Study, hermeneutics (Bible Interpretation), Biblical languages, evangelism, apologetics, homiletics (preaching and teaching) and theology in its program leading to the B.A. in Bible and Theology. In addition to the general education classes required to complete this program, practical ministry emphases are offered in pastoral ministry, Biblical studies, Biblical languages, Biblical counseling, youth ministry, church music ministry, missions and Christian teacher education.
Record high enrollments, the completion of our new Learning Resource Center (Library, classrooms and faculty offices), plans for continued campus expansion, a campus internet service available to faculty and students, on-line library access via Shastanet, state-of-the -art instructional technology in each classroom, the addition of masters degree programs in education, Biblical Counseling and Christian Family Life Ministry, and a growing number of SBC extension centers in Sacramento, the Central Valley and the Bay Area are just some of the recent blessings we enjoy.
In a day when the mission of many Christian colleges is no longer focused on preparing students for vocational Christian ministry, Shasta Bible College remains committed to equipping pastors, youth ministers, Biblical counselors, church music and worship leaders, missionaries and professional Christian school educators. Our graduates who go on for seminary education find that they are well prepared for graduate study. At SBC our students benefit from the experience, knowledge and wisdom of dedicated, academically qualified faculty members who not only mentor but model Christian leadership as they cultivate and groom Christian servant-leaders for the 21st Century.
At Shasta Bible College:
. . .our passion is to "make a difference" for Christ in a post-modern world captivated by the seductions of evolution, secular humanism, deconstructionism, ethical relativism, political correctness and new-age philosophy.
. . . our priority is to equip students to fulfill our Lord's final command (Matt. 28:19,20) by inculcating a love for the lost, dedication to discipleship and the ability to "accurately handle" God's infallible, inerrant Word, proclaiming it as the standard for all truth and the prime authority for faith and practice both in the church and personal life.
. . .our product is committed men and women who will serve and honor our Lord Jesus Christ with spirit-controlled and empowered lives that are holy and acceptable to Him.
Why not join us at SBC and discover the exciting fulfillment that comes with knowing the Book of books and serving the King of kings.
