Here's the DealCollege is an experience. It is much more than just books, classes and memorized facts. In my experience, students often learn the most valuable lessons outside of the classroom. Here at Shasta student life is more than just activities. Learning to live on campus with a community of varied individuals is challenging. We consider this, part of the educational process. Living in dorms, cooking meals and doing your own laundry for the first time may be more of a challenge than the classroom for many students. The campus here is small and our staff take a personal interest in our students. This means that it is much harder to just "fall through the cracks" than at the large mega institutional giants of our day. What we may lack in amenities, we make up for with a personal touch.
The SBC Associated Student Government hosts many events and activities every month. It's just fun and it builds community. There are also opportunities to serve God through outreach and care teams. Sharing the gospel or sharing God's love to those who need a hand makes for meaningful fun. Our students have a big heart. College years prepare us for the future. We build friendships that last a lifetime. We draw on these years once we find ourselves in the roles we have trained for. Join a community of Christ followers and make a difference in your world. |
