In Memoriam
Pastor Ted Rivers
Shasta Bible College & Graduate School alumnus, Pastor Ted Rivers, ’93, was called home to Glory January 31, 2022, following a courageous battle with health issues. Throughout his outstanding pastoral ministry with Village missions, Pastor Ted’s example as a “servant-leader” was an inspiration to all who knew him. Not only was he an effective expositor of God’s Word, he was also a gifted evangelist with a passion to disciple both new believers and those whom he so faithfully served as their pastor. Throughout his years of ministry Pastor Ted was always willing to bless his alma Mater, SBC&GS, with his God-given maintenance skills. Ted’s numerous contributions are: laying the carpet and other flooring throughout the educational buildings, beautifully remodeling the institutional restrooms, repairing the dormitories, completing the campus “Guard Shack,” installing the gate at the main entrance and solving countless problems during his tenure as Director of Maintenance. He also spoke several times in Chapel and even taught the “Field Ministry Class” during the semester he was with us.
According to SBC&GS President, Dr. David Nicholas, “Pastor Ted River’s fingerprints are all over the Shasta Bible College Graduate School Campus. There was virtually no project Ted was asked to do that he wasn’t both able and willing to accomplish. He was a perpetual source of information and solutions when it came to Campus maintenance and needs. His passion to serve the Lord with the many gifts he was given was exceeded only by the generosity with which he did them. The same was true when it came to his ministry to the Village Missions Churches he served, both as pastor and a roving Motor Home ambassador with his faithful and dedicated wife, Jeanette. He addressed maintenance needs and gave pastors a break from preaching.” View the loving obituary written by Jeanette and his family here:
